Allan
Allan is a HeroRAT in training to assist with remote mine detection (REST)
He is named after the first born son of Linda, another APOPO trainer, as he was born just shortly after Linda's son was born. Linda keeps tabs on Allan the HeroRAT and updates her son on him as well.

Personality: Docile, dedicated and hard-working, takes his job seriously and indicates very strongly.Really likes bananas!
Notable accomplishments:
Allan passed his first blind test in an advanced cage on May 14, 2008 with 80% performance! This was the highest performance of rats to date for the first test. The best part- his indications are very strong (at 3 seconds a piece) so even a passer by would know there is TNT in that sample!
Current stage in training: Advanced level- Allan is currently working on evaluating different soil types and concentrations of TNT.
